These Linzer Sables are probably the prettiest cookies I have ever made.Dennis, a.k.a. Noskos chose these cookies for the our weekly bake on Tuesdays with Dorie. Check out his blog, Living The Life, for the recipe.
I had never made anything like these before, and I love that about them. The cookie is nut-based and I was able to grind up almonds and hazelnuts. I love working with a food processor...I swear there isn't anything you can't do with that appliance.
I filled the cookies with the mom-in-law's homemade raspberry jam (from her own raspberry bushes, by the way) and then dusted them with powdered sugar. However, you must know they were spectacular on their own. I want to make these again. I love love loved them. Make sure to check out the other TWD bakers to see their results.
