My second locavore item is also under the #100 category of ice cream. For some reason ice cream was just the thing I wanted in June.
I grew up on these frozen treats. It's funny though because I had no idea they were a Utah original. My favorite flavor is probably orange or chocolate. I have very vivid memories of grocery shopping with my mom and getting my "treat" at the store. During the summer it was usually Creamies.
You can check out this page on The Original Creamies Web site to see if you can get it in your state. If you can, make sure to watch for the Egg Nog flavor during the winter! I love this one. I'm also interested in trying their newest flavor: vanilla dipped in milk rich milk chocolate.

Creamies are a Utah Original! They were created by my husband's grandpa Richard Merrill from Logan Utah. And his father Casper Merrill is the mind behind Fat Boy's and Cascos (those sundaes on a stick) both native to Utah. I love being married into such a delicious;y inventive family!
i love creamies! i'm not sure if they still make it but i love the banana flavor!
