Today mark's the official 3rd Year Anniversary for Tuesdays with Dorie. I can't believe it. Besides my teenage years of dance and cheer, the young women's personal progress program and a bachelor's degree; I don't think I've committed to something for so long. But baby, I'm in it for the long-haul! I will complete every stinking, lovely recipe from this cookbook.

To kick off year three, the founder of TWD, Laurie of Slush and Jules of Someone's in the Kitchen decided we should make Dorie's Midnight Crackles.
This chocolate cookie recipe turned out so much better than I ever thought it would. I didn't doubt it. I just didn't think I'd be so in-love with the result, which was the most delicious deep chocolate cookie with the neatest texture. The outside was firm and had a crunch to it, while the inside was soft. It was such a cool combination.
I spoiled myself and used my favorite Amano's Madagascar chocolate. Oh how it makes a difference! I also received a spice grinder from my sweet sister-in-law for Christmas and was able to grind some brand new spices I had. The clove was unreal! And Dorie was right. The clove adds a lot and people wonder what you put in it! My coworkers and family loved these cookies.
To see what the other Midnight Crackles made by my fellow TWD members look like, visit the Leave Your Link post. If you would like the recipe, visit the official Tuesdays with Dorie blog, or purchase Baking From My Home to Yours.
And, since we are celebrating here. I'd like to share our favorite Dorie recipes from this year.
Adam's Top 10 TWD Recipes for 2010
Becky's Top 10 TWD Recipes for 2010
- White Chocolate Brownies (We ate the whole pan...yes, just the two of us!)
- Burnt Sugar Ice Cream* (MY TWD PICK!)
- Tarte Tatin*
* = we both loved this recipe and consider it a favorite.
It was so hard to narrow these down. We scrolled through each recipe made this year and holy cow, delicious! Do you ever just look at the Dorie recipes you've made and think how hog-wild you would go if the dishes were actually sitting in front of you? Holy cow. I can't look at these anymore. Time for the treadmill. :)
Last but not least. I have to thank Lindsay from Cafe Johnsonia and Holly from Phemomenon. They were some of the first bloggers I followed who participated in TWD and they are the reason I joined Tuesdays with Dorie. I can't thank you ladies enough. You still inspire me with each post. Seriously. My life has changed for the better because I joined this group.

It seems every time I bake something for TWD, I discover a new favorite. Although these cookies were only okay in my eyes, this book is the best!!

Those look fabulous! So glad you enjoyed them and lots of other recipes. Thanks for baking along!
I didn't get to make the cookies, but I really liked your lists! I can never pick just one favourite of anything, but I might be able to manage 10. Or 20. Happy new year!
