Tuesdays with Dorie: Pecan Powder Puffs

Say hello to a cookie that is flaky, nutty and melts in your mouth. Oh, and it's coated in powdered sugar. Delish. This week Tia of Buttercream Barbie chose these Pecan Powder Puffs for our weekly Tuesdays with Dorie recipe.

I'll be honest, I wasn't that excited. I just saw it as a cookie that I'd sorta had before and was not wowed by. But um, as usual, Dorie busts out a great recipe that takes the ordinary up to extraordinary!

I loved these cookies. They were so much better than any Mexcian wedding cookie recipe I had tried before, and they were easy to make! (The shape didn't turn out like I had imagined but I didn't care because the taste was delicious.)

Be sure to get the recipe from Tia's blog and see how the other TWD baker's like them, here.

You're right about the shapes, I think I expected a perfect circle, but your cookies look lovely!!

Im glad you enjoyed these cookies! Mine didn't shape into perfect balls either, but who cares, they were so tasty! I ate way to many, they just melted in my mouth:)

I felt the exact same way about the recipe, they were a huge hit even if I wasn't excited at first! I love your plate, it's so pretty!

Yep, I had made something similar before, but these were excellent! I used almonds and added some ginger.

Becky,

This is Ashlee (Whitehead) Burton. Katie (Smith)emailed me your link a million years ago and I have never left a note, although I pop in from time to time. I wanted to tell you that I made your Lemon Cream Cake... the one that you made for the RS Anniversiary... for my first day of spring party, and it was the talk of the evening! Thanks so much for the recipe!

Hope all is well with you and Adam!

Ashlee!!!

Hello, so great to hear from you. I'm so happy you made that lemon cake. It screams spring. I was actually thinking about it the other day and how I might request it for my bday this year.

Adam and I are great. Just working and loving all things Provo! :)
