Sandwiches are all the rage in my book right now. We try to do a sandwich night once a week at home. I am stoked that Jeff Marrow, The Sandwich King won The Next Food Network Star. And last weekend I enjoyed some of the best sandwiches to enter Utah!
I'm going to give you a number and I want you to remember it: Twenty two.
Got it? Don't forget it!
Okay, now remember Station 22. That is where you'll need to go eat right after you read this post. I'd call Station 22 a sandwich shop but I won't. It is so much more. It is a high-quality, well-executed restaurant with real food. Real good food. The owners care about the integrity of their product and have a passion for building up and supporting local. This is just the type of restaurant where I like to spend my dollars.
Last weekend we enjoyed three items off of the Station 22 menu: Reuben sandwich, Ratatouille sandwich and a basket of beer-battered french fries with house-made truffle ketchup and house-made fry sauce. Everything was delicious. That darn truffle ketchup still has me thinking. You must try it. I loved it.
I will return to Station 22 very soon and often. I want to try everything on their menu and since it rapidly changes, according to seasonal produce, I'll have lots of reasons to. I have major regrets of not trying Station 22's honeycomb dessert or the salad bar.
So friends, if you are local or in town take some advice: this weekend spread some local love, support a local business, and make that local business, Station 22 in Downtown Provo. You can thank me later.
