Peanut Butter & Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

I love peanut butter. And I have a very low tolerance for bananas. That is except when they are in the form of being frozen. And I have to add another qualifier to make bananas edible for my palate--they must be in a shake. Yesterday morning I made a delicious smoothie, shake or whatever you want to call these liquid breakfasts. I made my recipe for a Peanut Butter & Banana Oatmeal Smoothie.

Since my husband is the only one in our house that eats bananas fresh, we always have one or two bananas from bunch that need to be frozen. Needless to say, I have a plentiful supply of frozen bananas for protein shakes and smoothies. I love it--I get the health benefits of bananas, without actually having to eat them fresh.

This Peanut Butter & Banana Oatmeal Smoothie is no exception. It combines everything one banana-lover would normally enjoy if they were eating bananas fresh or making a bowl of warm oatmeal topped with fresh bananas. I included complimentry ingredients like peanut butter (bananas best friend), honey (for natural sweetness), oatmeal (more fiber, right) and milled flax seed and wheat germ (cause there's some good stuff in there).

Then you simply blend all ingredients up with some milk and ice and are good to go. This smoothie is creamy and flavorful, and gives you that peanut butter fix. This is a great tasting and very satisfying breakfast, I was surprised at how long it kept me satiated. Give my recipe for Peanut Butter and Banana Oatmeal Smoothie a try. Chances are you have all ingredients on hand already!
