Decadence Artisan Cafe in Orem
North Oremites have a new joint to hang out and satiate the need for a non-coffee fix at the new Decadence. This self-proclaimed artisan cafe serves up far more than roasted cocoa bru concoctions, though that’s their specialty and what will keep you coming back for more.
Read more on my Utah Loves Cupcakes post. It's a fun new cafe to support.

Brown Butter & Dulce de Leche No-Bake Cookies
It seems like there is a resurgence of no-bake cookies all around the web these days. I have so many memories of those chocolate oatmeal treats as a child. But to be honest, I haven't had them for nearly a decade. Not because they aren't good, but because I've just gravitated to other cookies and really, forgotten about them. Then earlier this week I was inspired to get in my kitchen and cook up my own version after I saw Cookin' Canuck's Light(er) take on the yummies. The fun of the no-bake cookie comeback are the great twists food bloggers have made to this classic, quick-cooking treat.
Today I'm adding to the list of new takes on the no-bake cookie with my Brown Butter and Dulce de Leche No-Bake Cookies.

Today I'm sharing with you my recipe for Wild Rice Soup with Kale and Sweet Potato. It's one of the first soups I made this fall and my family loved it. It's brothy, flavorful and both comforting and light at the same time.

Utah Local Love: Bombay House in Provo, Utah
The Bombay House in Provo is one of my very favorite restaurants. I often choose to go there for my birthday, as I did this year. I adore Indian food. Here's this year's spread:
Assorted Snacks vegetable samosa, onion bhaji, chicken pakora, and vegetable pakora
Onion Naan Indian bread with seasoned onions and baked in tandoor (clay oven)
Lamb Boti Kabob Masala boneless lamb barbecued in tandoor oven, then cooked with onions, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, cream, and spices
Vegetable Coconut Kurma mixed vegetables cooked with onions, tomatoes, cashew nuts, golden raisins, coconut milk, and spices (I usually get the Chicken Coconut Kurma, but a good friend knows how much I love vegetables and suggested I get this and add chicken. Brilliant!)
Strawberry Lassi refreshing yogurt drink blended with strawberries and homemade yogurt
If you love Indian food or are looking to branch out from the norm. Head to Bombay House!

POSTUM™ is back
There was a scarcity in 2007. Did you know that? Men and women were frantically running from grocery store to grocery store in search of one item: Postum.
Ah yes, that instant hot beverage made from roasted wheat-bran and molasses.
I grew up with this stuff. For some reason my parents always had it on hand. I think they grew up with it too. It wasn't an everyday occasion, but just enough so that overtime I detect that rich Postum smell, I will forever think of my parents, especially my Mother.

What to do with Leftover Juice Pulp? {Baked Manicotti Recipe}
As you know, I'm a big fan of juicing. I love adding more fresh fruits and vegetables to my day. Last week I shared with you my recipe for Cucumber and Apple Juice with Ginger. It's a real winner. But lately I'm on a huge kick of making fresh tomato juices. I have a favorite, brushetta, that I make a lot. I mix it up here and there. But basically it's just what you think it'd be: tomato, basil and garlic.
When you juice these items, you definitely get a lot of pulp and I hate to waste it. Especially when there are so many uses for juicing pulp.

Cucumber and Tomato Salad with Herbed Sour Cream
September has been full of lots of great cucumbers at our house. I've been getting lots of great cucumbers from my CSA share at La Nay Ferme. I'm getting a good little variety of cukes, too!
I wanted to make a quick and simple side dish for dinner one
night. As I opened my fridge a larger than life English cucumber caught my eye.
That was my start. Then I realized I had some other produce like fresh thyme
and baby heirloom tomatoes that needed to be used.

Happy Labor Day + A Day at Deer Valley Resort
Happy Labor Day, friends. I hope you've had a relaxing weekend full of family, good food and fun. I sure have and its been great. This weekend I had the chance to head up to Park City to one of my very favorite ski resorts, Deer Valley Resort. It was such a break from the norm. Each time I head up to the mountains, especially in Park City I wonder why on Earth I don't do it more often.

Cucumber & Apple Juice with Ginger
I love juicing. It's a great way to add important nutrients to my daily eating, its delicious and its fun. There's nothing like a fresh juice, honestly. After juicing your own fruits and veggies, you'll never want to buy processed juice from the grocery store again.
Today I'm sharing one of my favorite juices I make at home: Cucumber and Apple Juice with Ginger. It's such a cool and refreshing drink, perfect on a warm summer day. It contains some of my very favorite juicing ingredients and here's why:
Apples: Sweet, fresh and full of energy. Apples help cleanse the liver and kidney and provide potassium.
Ginger Root: Fragrant and spicy. Ginger has got to me my go-to in all juice. It adds that extra punch and turns most fresh juices from good to great. I love its anti-inflammatory effects.
