Tuesdays with Dorie


UPDATE: As of November 30, 2011 I have completed every single recipe in Dorie Greenspan's Baking from My Home to Yours. I think I may be the first? Who knows!  All I know is the journey was amazing and Dorie Greenspan taught me to bake!

In March 2008, I started this blog to document my journey of domesticity. Then several months later I discovered the Tuesdays with Dorie weekly blog n' bake group. Basically food bloggers around the world who have purchased the best-ever baking cookbook, "Baking from My Home to Yours" (by Dorie Greenspan) bake the same recipe and post it on their blogs every Tuesday. (See rules, here.)

The group started January 1, 2008 when Laurie of Lush received Baking from My Home to Yours for Christmas. She decided as a New Year's goal she would bake one recipe each week. She invited anyone to join her on her blog and not long after nearly 400 bakers were baking up a storm. She named the group Tuesdays with Dorie.

I joined in August 2008, with my first recipe being Black n' White Banana Loaf, and have loved my journey.

Besides my teenage years of dance and cheer, the young women's personal progress program and a bachelor's degree; I don't think I've committed to something for so long. But baby, I'm in it for the long-haul! I will complete every stinking, lovely recipe from this cookbook.

As of March 13, 2011 I have 117 recipes (29 missed, 42 skipped, 46 to in the next year or so)  to go and I'm determined to complete all of them when the group posts the last recipe pick. I can't wait till the day that I can hold up BFMHTY and say "I have made every recipe in this entire cookbook!"
